November 24 - November 28, 2008

I apologize for missing last week...we have had a "plague" of sickness in my home, but I believe that everyone is now on the mend!

This week:

All classes will be preparing portfolios to accompany the student-led conferences that will take place on Thursday evening and Friday morning. I will be available in the French office should you wish to stop by and discuss your child's marks or simply want to say hello.

Grade 8: Continued work with verbs in the present, past and future tenses. We will be beginning to create gameboards with the content of our timelines early next week. I am looking very forward to this activity!

Grade 5: We are working on a short artistic and descriptive writing task using the characters from our play, L'arbre ungali. This will be completed in groups and will be posted, I hope, in the hallways by the end of the week.

Grade 2: We are finalizing work on our books, C'est moi! Students will be practicing reading and presenting to the class.

Grade 1: We are continuing to work with our play; number words and digits to ten; and the days of the week.

Kindergarten: We are also continuing our work with days of the week, counting to twenty and basic shapes.

As December begins, we will introduce some Christmas vocabulary and songs to be sung during classroom activities.

Have a great long weekend due to the PA Day on Friday!

Grade 1: Continued work with our play "La poule maboule"; number and word association for numbers one to ten; continued gesture practice.
